After coming to the U.S. from Chile, and raising their son, Elsa got her GED and enrolled in Beauty School, getting her certificate for Cosmetology.

Robi was born premature: 6 to 6 1/2 months, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Ft. Worth, Texas, 7:30pm on a Thursday weighing 3# 7oz and about 14 in. Residence at time of birth was 429 South Lake, Ft. Worth, Tarrant county, Texas.
     Baptized into the Body of Christ by Brother Adair Chapman at age 14. Rob joined the marines in 1964 and went to Vietnam after boot camp. After being discharged from the marines, and finding neither work nor satisfaction, enlisted in the Navy. After mustering out of the Navy, and attending college in Portales, New Mexico, he went to Chile as a missionary, where he married Elsa.
     They returned to the U.S. in Elsa's seventh month of pregnancy, and their son Jonathan was born at the hospital in Quitman, Texas, where his grandmother was working as an RN.
